Electronics, appliances, furniture… If they work or are in good condition and you no longer need them, we pick them up free of charge, or you drop them off at our warehouse, by appointment.
How it works
Free, simple and safe for your data.
Available in Montreal, Laval and Longueuil. You can also drop off your items at our warehouse, by appointment.
Free pickup
We come to you, two people with a truck for large items, or you drop them off at our warehouse, by appointment: we give you the address when we confirm. You receive a pickup slip.
Checking
Every device is tested and every piece of furniture inspected. Computers, phones and consoles are wiped and reset; on request, you receive a data erasure certificate.
A second life
Items in good condition are reused in West Africa. Anything that does not work goes to an approved recycling drop-off in Quebec, never overseas.

What we accept.
We only take devices that still work and furniture in good condition. That is the rule that allows them to be shipped abroad and used again.

- Clean sofas and armchairs, with no stains or tears
✕We do not accept
- Devices that no longer work, or parts
- Mattresses and box springs
- Broken, water-swollen or mouldy furniture, or furniture with signs of bed bugs
- Rusty or leaking appliances (water or gas)
- Swollen or damaged batteries, or loose batteries
- Tube (CRT) TVs and monitors
- Modems and boxes rented from your Internet or TV provider
- Phones or tablets still linked to an account (iCloud, Google)
- Items you do not own
Before the pickup
A few simple steps.
We wipe every device that holds data. These steps also protect you and speed up the pickup.
Back up
Copy your photos and documents elsewhere. Once a device is wiped, nothing can be recovered.
Sign out of your accounts
Remove your Apple, Google, Microsoft, PlayStation or Xbox account, and turn off "Find my device".
Prepare large items
Empty and unplug appliances the day before (defrost the freezer). Take furniture apart if you can and leave easy access.

Why is it free?
What you give is reused in West Africa, where these items are in high demand. Their second life pays for the pickup.
Do you take mattresses?
No, neither mattresses nor box springs, for hygiene reasons. Upholstered furniture is accepted only if clean, with no stains or tears.
Do I need to take furniture apart?
It is better. For a simple bed or wardrobe, we can help on site if you mention it in your request.
What do you do with devices that do not work?
We never ship them. They are dropped off free of charge at an approved recycling point in Quebec.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Every device that holds data is wiped and reset before any reuse. On request, we give you a data erasure certificate.
I am a business, do you take a fleet of computers?
Yes. Tell us how many computers and screens: we schedule a pickup and give you the list of devices with their erasure certificate.
Do you give a tax receipt?
No. Alpha Solutions is not a charity. You receive a pickup slip listing your items.
